A Life Changed in an Instant
On the eve of Chanukah in Bondi Beach, Australia, Leibel was shot twice during one of the country's deadliest terrorist attacks. He was saving the life of a police officer. Nearby, Rabbi Eli Schlanger, HY"D, his mentor at Chabad of Bondi, whom he was interning under, was one of the fifteen murdered that night at the very celebration he had organized.
After weeks in intensive care, eleven major surgeries, and months of rehabilitation, he was faced with a question that would shape the rest of his life:
Why was I given another chance?
That question became his mission.
Today, through storytelling, piano, and honest conversation, Leibel helps audiences discover strength, deepen their faith, embrace Jewish pride, and find practical ways to face life's greatest challenges.
